A good start
Well prepared for the first day
Going to daycare for the first time is a big step, for your child and for you. Here you can read what to arrange when you are expecting, and how the first days with us go.
Expecting a baby?
What you can arrange in advance
Many parents look for a daycare during the pregnancy. This is how it works with us.
- 01
Come and see
Book a tour. You see the group and the rooms, meet the team and ask all your questions.
- 02
Register your child
After the tour you can register your child. We explain how it works.
- 03
Arrange the benefit
You apply for childcare benefit yourself at Dienst Toeslagen. You will need our LRK number: 118480145.

The first day
Settling in calmly, at your own pace
Before your child starts, we have an intake meeting about food, sleep and what your child needs. We record those agreements, so everyone in the group knows about them.
After that we build up settling in gradually, with slightly longer days each time. We agree the schedule with you, because not every child settles in at the same pace. And it is a big step for parents too.
What does your child bring?
A bag for the first day
We already have nappies and wipes. These are good to bring yourself. Please put your child’s name on everything.
- Spare clothesOne or two sets, suited to the season.
- A cuddly toy or blanketSomething that smells of home helps with settling in.
- Bottle or beakerIf your child drinks from one, with their name on it.
- DummyIf your child uses one.
Tips for home
How to prepare your child
Explain what will happen
Even a baby senses change. Tell your child where they are going and who will pick them up. That brings calm.
Practise the morning
Getting dressed, breakfast, packing the bag: practise the morning routine once beforehand. The first day then goes more calmly.
All feelings are welcome
Sometimes a child wants to play straight away, sometimes they would rather hide for a while. Both are fine. Feel free to talk to us about how it is going.
